How to get paid from ClickBank – Tips on how to meet the ClickBank CDR
If you are a ClickBank affiliate, you probably already know the Customer Distribution Requirement (CDR) policy.
The CDR is the ClickBank anti-fraud policy, to avoid a fraudolent use of the ClickBank account; in short you cannot purchase ClickBank products using your own affiliate link just to collect rebates.
That is why “ClickBank will withhold payment of any account balance until the following criteria is met:
- Sales made with 5 or more different credit card numbers; and,
- Sales made with two different payment methods (either Visa, MasterCard, PayPal or European Direct Debit(ELV)). Note: PayPal purchases do not count toward the minimum 5 different credit card numbers.”
I joined the ClickBank Affiliate Program last year and started to promote ClickBank Products. In a short period i made 9 sales, for an amount of commission of $167.48.
At first i was very excited, making sales was very moivating but then i saw on my PayChecks report the column Status with thelink to the CDR.
This was very frustrating: not only you have to meet a payment threshold before you get paid, but you also have to do several sales, but sales have to be made from FIVE different credit card number. Considering that the best part of my sales come from PayPal, it is not that easy to meet the CDR. This was very discouraging, and is one of the main reasons why many affiliates fail at ClickBank affiliate marketing.
But there is more: according to ClickBank “Accounts with a positive balance but no earnings for an extended period of time are considered dormant“. Dormant accounts are subject to a charge of $1 per pay period after 90 days of inactivity, $5 per pay period after 180 days of inactivity, and $50 per pay period after 365 days of inactivity”.
Of Course, if you do a lot of sales on ClickBank, this is not a problem to you, but what if i made other, let’s say 10 sales and all customers pay with PayPal ? I will not able to meet the ClickBank CDR, so getting sales does not mean you will get paid.
I find the solution to my problem in this free ebook from Harvey Segal on how to met the Customer Distribution Requirement. You can download it for free, no signup, no email required.
Don’t let the title fool you; if you are a ClickBank affiliate and you don’t know what to do to meet the ClickBank Customer Distribution Requirement, my advice is to read the Harvey Segal’s ClickBank for Newbies free ebook; you might be losing commission without knowing it.

Establishing Your Presence on Internet: Registering a Domain Name and Choosing an Hosting Account
Establishing Your Presence on Internet: Registering a Domain Name and Choosing a Hosting Account.
Ok, now you did you homework, you discovered the Market Niche to go for and selected some keywords related to you Niche using the Google Keyword Tool we were talking About in the previous article.
Now it’s time to Establish Your Presence on Internet. To achieve this target you need two things:
- a Domain Name
- a Hosting Account
The Domain Name is the simbolic name that you put on you browser to find a Site (ie: google.com).
The Hosting Account is a Service that gives you web space to upload Your site or Blog making it accessible to the users of the Net.
Remember that your domain name should possibly contain one of more of the keyword you previously selected. Try to incorporate your primary keyword phrase in your url, even using hyphens that makes the domain name more readable and more easy to parse from the search engine crawlers.
In my opinion you should go on .com domains, even if they are little more expensive than others ( like .info domains).
There are several Sites where you can purchase a Domain, and several sites that can help you to find a Domain name somewhat related to te Niche You are promoting.
You can go for a new Domain or bid for an existing Domain.
As for the sites that can help you to find a name for your domain, there is NameBoy where you can do domain name search and domain name lookup with the Site’s domain name generator. Just put in some keywords ad NameBoy provides a list of the keyword-related available domains.
As for new domains my favourite id GoDaddy , the world’s #1 domain registrar, with over 4,000,000 domains registered.
There are great offers for Bulk Domain Registration at GoDaddy, including free Privacy (the ability to hide your personal information on whois database) and a great Customer Care support.
Often Hosting Company give a free domain name registration where you purchase their Hosting service; this is a good thing, but if you can then purchase separately Hosting Service from Domain Name Registration. this make more easy in the future to change you Hosting service if you are not satisfied with it.
To use your Domain with a different Web Hosting Service go to your Domain Registrar Account and replace the Nameservers where your domain has been parked from the domain registrar with those (usually 2) provided from your Hosting Service:

As for Hosting Service there are several aspects to consider; obviously the price is important, but an hosting service with bad uptime %, bad support, and poor features is not a good deal at all, even if it is very cheap.
These are the Hosting Services I Really use, so I can give you a first-hand opinion, not a related one
HostMonster: $5.95/mo Web Hosting, Unlimited Domain, Unlimited Space, Unlimited Transfer on 1 Account.
One of the most reliable Hosting Service around, i have used their services for years now, without any problem. Highly recommended, now hosting 750,000 Domains.
HostGator: HostGator is one of the best Web Hosting Company since its establishment in 2002, Hosting over 2,500,000 domains.
Three different plans available: Hatchling, Baby and Swamp all including unlimited bandwidth and disk space.

45 Day Money-Back Guarantee.
WebHostingPad: WebHostingPad offers Unlimited Domains under 1 account with 1000 GB of Disk Space and 10,000 GB of Bandwidth for only $4.45/mo.
I have purchased the special Offer with the incredibly low price of $1.99/mo, but despite the low price, the service is absolutely good. Special Offer:

- $3.45/mo. (2 Years)

Marketing Research and Keyword Analysis
Marketing Research and Keyword Analysis.
On the first article we have seen some of the MarketPlace where you can find good products to promote.
Now it’s time to decide which Niche we want focus on and find the right Keywords to address our Niche.
Remember, the more broad the Niche, the more competition, so maybe it’s better to find a Sub Niche to target with our Marketing Strategies.
As for the first point, Marketing Research is very important to Discover profitable Niches; refer to the Marketing Courses that you find at the end of the article; all these Courses have good sections about the brainstorming process to choose a Profitable Niche
As for the Keyword Research, the first tool that we examine is Google Keyword Tool, the free Google tool to do keyword research. Go to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
and start to do keyword research.
So, in example, if you are promoting a product related to “hair loss”, you can start your research entering your keyword or phrase, entering the Captcha Code and clicking the “Get Keyword ideas” button
Find key phrases with a number between 1000 and 40000 searches /month or more; they can be both mainstream keyword (i.e “hair loss”) or the so-called long-tail keyword (i.e. “how to stop your hair loss”).
Use the Exact match in your research to have more relevant results (select “Exact” in the Match Type combo) and click the “add Exact” button on the keywords you want to use:
Find about 15-20 keywords and phrases relevant to the Niche you want to address and describing the products you want to promote.
Use some of these keywords to do more research, and then export your keyword List in a .txt file clicking the link supplied:
Select also some “buying keywords” like, i.e “purchase hair loss treatment”.
Now you have to check on the competition for these keywords.
Put your keyword phrases in google search engine as an exact phrase (that is enclosed in quotes) and look at the competition for your keyword.
Repeat this process for all the keywords in your list and select only the keyword phrases with 15000 or less competitors.
You should end with about 15-20 keywords that fit these requirements.
This process end up with a selection of keywords to target; the more keyword you are able to discover with low competition, the better. This will help you to rank better in google, to have more traffic, and to get more sales.

Introduction to Affiliate Marketing
Introduction to Affiliate Marketing
This is the first of a series of articles i wrote about Affiliate Marketing and how to find and dominate a profitable Niche. Let’s start with a simple introduction to Affiliate Marketing.
Do not expect a lot from this articles; i’ll try to maintain as simple as is possible and explain the basic concepts, so they are aimed to a non expert audience.
Affiliate Marketing, as the term suggest is a Market, and like in every Markets there are at least three main actors;
The Vendor: a private or a company who sell its services or products;
The Buyer : who is going to purchase those service and products;
The Affiliate: Is an intermediary (read salesperson) that sell the Vendor’s product to the Buyer and receive a Commission for his selling activity.
What the advantages? For the Vendor the availability of a sales force otherwise impossible to hire thus covering a broad Market, for the Affiliate the commission fee covering the marketing and promotion efforts. Obviously for this mechanism to work commission should be adequate as no affiliate will really put a lot of effort into promoting a Product if the return is not good enough. So, in example, if you’re looking to market a new product that costs $149 per sale, and you pay your affiliates $0.50 per sale, well, you’e just not going to have that many affiliates, and that means low promotion and lower sales.
So, as an Affiliate, you should:
- join a MarketPlace
- find a good product to promote that has good commissions
- promote this product
- sell the product and earn.
Some of the best MarketPlaces for digital Products are:
ClickBank
PayDotCom
Commission Junction
Plimus
For Physical Goods:
Amazon.com
Ebay.com
ShareASale.com
There are several parameters to determine if a product is good to promote. These are some of the most relevant:
- Gravity: indicates the number of affiliates who have earned a commission by promoting a particular product (the higher the better). This parameters indicate that the product is converting well.
- Total$/Sale: Total$/Sale is a relevant indicator for who know how much is going to spend on promotion for each sale, so they can select only products whose Total$/Sale is higher than the advertising costs.
- Avg%/Sale: similar to the former, but in percentage. – % Referred: This is the percentage of a vendor’s sales that are referred by affiliates. A high Ratio indicates a well established Vendor with a wide affiliate base.
- Future $: This refers to subscription products, where Affiliate earn recurring revenue from a single sale.
So, as a rule of thumb, choose to promote products with high gravity and high Avg%/Sale.
